Tom’s Cedar Workshop

Daily 9:00-12:00

Pick the trees you want
harvested for your project.
Then strip their bark, and
build a simple arbour, obelisk, trellis
or garden bench. Using power tools,
you create your own garden treasure!
Or use one of our designs to make
something special for your garden.
Classes restricted in size.

$45- inclusive

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Lunch

Daily 10:00am-1:00pm

In the garden, we
taste and identify the fresh
herbs. In the kitchen, these are added
to our gourmet lunch dishes. After
a leisurely lunch, take home lots of
hand-outs on herbal know how, and
recipes tested and approved by friends
and even family of Rural Rootz.

$45- inclusive

Tom Ashman

Tom was schooled in engineering, trained as a carpenter and became a gardener by choice. His prime directive is to keep human impact on the environment to a minimum. After designing and building a passive solar home with a dry composting toilet, he and Dee turned to designing gardens that are environmentally sustainable.

Dee Ashman

Dee was trained as a teacher and took her first art lessons at age fourteen. She holds certificates in Reiki, Reflexology and BodyTalk. A lifetime of meditation, relaxation and yoga practices led her to a deep understanding of our need for spiritual and emotional ties to the earth.

Together they have been involved in everything from building a stone monument for the CAW to designing a volunteer "thank you" Artcard and Page Hugger for a literacy programme called Strong Start ©.
